3D Printing and Technology Fund Launched

Jan 29, 2014 | Outlook Funds Trust today announced the launch of the 3D Printing and Technology Fund, the Trust’s inaugural fund and the first-ever mutual fund covering 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing. The Fund is managed by 3D Printing Fund Advisers, LLC, with Alan M. Meckler serving as Senior Portfolio Manager and John M. Meckler as Co-Manager and Chief Compliance Officer.

Dell to Offer MakerBot 3D Printers

Jan 28, 2014 | Dell today announced it will offer MakerBot Replicator 3D printers and scanners to create an end-to-end 3D design solution for small and medium-sized businesses enabling fast and affordable prototyping. By adding MakerBot 3D printers and scanners to its existing portfolio of Dell Precision workstations, engineers can design and test new product concepts quickly; architects can create 3D prototypes during the design phase; and start-ups can experiment with new product designs and artistic models inexpensively.

NVIDIA Revs Up Tesla GPU

GPU maker NVIDIA has ratcheted up the core count and clock speed on its Tesla GPU processor. The new M2090 module for servers delivers 665 double precision gigaflops, representing close to a 30 percent increase over the previous generation Tesla part. The memory bandwidth on the device was bumped up as well, from 150 GB/second to 178 GB/second. The new GPU boosts performance significantly across a number of HPC codes.
