10 Minute 3D Clothing: CLO Virtual Fashion Inc. Exhibits a Speed Fashion Technology at SIGGRAPH 2012

SEOUL, South Korea, August 3 --CLO Virtual Fashion Inc., an independent 3D VR technology company in KOREA, will be showcasing the latest version of Marvelous Designer(MD), a 3D virtual garment solution for CG users , and CLO 3D ,same solution but targeted toward professional fashion industry users, throughout SIGGRAPH 2012 on August 7 – 9, 2012. CLO Virtual Fashion Inc. prepared various events. Visitors to the CLO booth will be able to play an “Actual vs. Virtual” game, take a photo with a super model wearing a fantasy dress made of MD, get designer’s T-shirts and watch full version of BBC London Olympics animation film created by BBC using MD. The booth number is #1022 , J hall in LA Convention Center.

Marvelous Designer

Built on swift modeling tools and a mix-and-match layering system that can mimic all types of cloth variations, MD is how digital clothes get made faster. Speed features, like the ability to start from a template (like a shirt) helps 3D creators leap over the initial modeling stages that used to rob them of time and energy. 2D patterns selected from MD’s library or created by other users can then be form-fitted to a 3D model quickly for an appealing and adjustable drape preview. Each pattern is easy to manipulate; giving the designer supreme flexibility around final looks in real-time.

I’m a senior character artist, and I’ve been using MD as a 3D modeling tool since a year. My favorite feature of MD is the possibility to adjust and iterate quickly that model, to change a design. It really makes my job easier, and I’ve learnt a lot about drape and such things. I would recommend MD to any character modeler who wants to improve his pipeline and raise the bar in terms of quality and realism.

“Our goal is to help designers quickly make clothes that look and drape realistic” said Seungwoo Oh, CTO of CLO Virtual Fashion Inc. “Believability is what makes you stand out.”
