Magic tricks are for kids’ birthday parties and street entertainers. If you want to be taken seriously in the business, learn from Gob, master magician of TV’s most fabulously dysfunctional family ever, Arrested Development, and refer to them as illusions, not tricks.
A magnificent example of an illusion that will take your breath away was conjured up by Moment Factory’s Duality in Atlantic City on July 4th. Combining light, architecture, video, sound and 3D mapping, they took the 83-year old landmark, Boardwalk Hall, digitally modeled it, and created an illusion of the full sized structure crumbling to the ground in a burst of rainbow colors.
Check out the video of this amazing illusion. But don’t call it magic – this is pure science.
